Here is the January 2008 report on our work on the Mosquito.
1. Good progress on the wing trial fit this month. We have profiled the top edges of the fuselage side panels to match the lower face of the wing at rib # 1. We have drilled off all the bolt and fitting attachment holes \through the side panels into the wing and fitted all the brackets and supports. We have also trial fitted the inboard wing tank panels where they fit at the side panels.
2. A number of other connecting parts have been test fitted such as the navigators floor, the panels between the radio compartment and the dingy box and the centre line match angle attachment at the rear spar. With all these pieces sorted we were then able to lift the fuselage off the wing and ready it for fabric.
3. We have assisted attaching the leading and trailing edge assemblies to the wing and began sanding and preparing the wing surface for the fabric.
4. The aileron rebuild is also progressing well and we are approaching the final assembly stage.
5. We have started the wing fabric covering by doing the flaps.
Should be well into the wing fabric next month and finish the aileron.
