Here is the August 2007 report on our work on the Mosquito.
1. We have continued with the hydraulic and pneumatic plumbing for the landing gear, flaps, bomb door controls and the brakes. At this point we have installed the majority of the pipes that lead through to the valves mounted on the front face of the bomb bay and taken them back down the right side to the first junction.
2. The overhaul of the landing gear components is continuing with the completion of the main trusses this month. The inspected plated and painted components have been re-assembled inn the jigging fixture and are now complete. We have moved onto the axel and brake mount fitting areas and have salvaged, inspected and crack tested the axels and associated components and are ready to re-assemble. A small amount of work has gone on with the main wheel mudguards also
3. We have started on the oil tank mounting hardware also and have manufactured the new oil tank attachment straps from original samples. We have refurbished and repaired as required the tank mounting brackets from off the firewall.
4. Work has continued with the fuel tanks again this month. The forming tools for the tank ends are complete and a test pressing has been commissioned to help develop the pattern sizes. We have begun fabrication of the internal baffles and also produced a few tank sections and begun welding them together.
