Avspecs Limited was formed in 1997 by Warren and Colin Denholm. Originally based at Rotorua New Zealand, the company was established to provide a fully dedicated restoration facility for Warbird and Vintage aircraft. The company moved to Ardmore, South Auckland in 2000 and is now run by Warren and his wife Shona.
The staff at Avspecs have a wide range of expertise rebuilding Vintage and Warbird aircraft since 1986 and have experience on the following types:
De Havilland Tiger Moth Hawker Sea Fury De Havilland Venom North American T6 Harvard Lockheed 10A Electra Boeing Stearman Cessna Bird Dog Curtiss P-40 Kittyhawk Supermarine Spitfire
In 2003, Avspecs moved into their own new premises in Kittyhawk Lane, Ardmore Airfield. This facility allows for future expansion and guarantees the company's position at Ardmore, New Zealand's busiest airfield and the home of the New Zealand Warbirds Association.
Due to the company's location at Ardmore Airfield, on the southern edge of Auckland City, good access is afforded to all of the essential support services required. Heat Treatment, NDT, Electroplating and foundry services all exist within 40 miles of our location. In addition to these services, we offer a wide range of in-house capability:
Machining - Fabric Covering - Propeller Overhaul - Painting - Hydro Forming - Avionics Installation
